Write to Fight for a Drug-Free Campus.

The Anti-Drug Committee of PPG College of Arts & Science, Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, organized an Essay Writing Competition on August 14, 2025, at 11:40 AM in the PPG CAS Library. The competition was conducted under the theme "Effective Strategies for Preventing Substance Abuse Among College Students," with the inspiring slogan "Write to Fight for a Drug-Free Campus." This event aimed to raise awareness among college students about the dangers of substance abuse and to promote effective preventive strategies to maintain a healthy, drug-free campus environment. The event was coordinated by Dr. A. Maheswari (Member), convened by Mr. V. Rathinakumar (Nodal Officer), and patronized by Dr. N. Muthumani (Principal).

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 50 students, who actively engaged in writing thoughtful essays reflecting their understanding and commitment against drug use. The event successfully fostered a spirit of responsibility among students to resist drugs and spread awareness about substance abuse.

The competition heightened student awareness on the harmful effects of drugs, encouraged conversations about preventive measures, and strengthened the college’s resolve towards maintaining a drug-free campus culture. The event also provided a platform for students to express their views creatively, promoting a healthier, safer academic environment for all.
