2024 - Youth Awakening day

The Department of English has conducted an event “ Talent Hunt” to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. In this regard, the department has conducted events like Essay Writing and Doodles of Mahatma Gandhi. It covers the topic of life of Gandhi as a Freedom Fighter and the unique concept of non- Violence. Further the doodles cover the title of portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Ms. S. Sharmila, Assistant Professor, Department of English acted as a coordinator for this event. On the 16th of October, the English Department organized a short film contest and poetry writing competition in commemoration of "Youth Awakening day." Through their cinematic presentations, students from diverse disciplines showcased their exceptional artistic prowess, inspiring their peers. The thematic focus centered on the personal biography of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam and the invaluable lessons he imparts to the young generation. Dr. N. Muthumani, the Principal of PPG College of Arts and Science, participated as a discerning judge, acknowledging the significance of the event. Securing the top position were students from III B.COM and II M.COM, while students from I BSC CS secured the second position, and those from II BSC CS achieved the third prize.
