The Department of Computer Science at PPG College of Arts & Science, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an insightful session titled “Angel Investment / VC Funding Opportunities for Early Stage Entrepreneurs” on 31st July 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Conference Hall. The event featured CS C. Sakunthala, Chairperson of the Coimbatore Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, as the resource person. She shared valuable guidance on funding strategies for budding entrepreneurs. The outlines a structured approach to startup funding, covering its definition, types, stages, and key compliance requirements. It explains how startups progress from ideation to exit, supported by various funding options such as equity, debt, and grants. Each option is compared based on risk, involvement, and returns. It highlights sector-specific startup examples and stresses the importance of legal, financial, and strategic assessments before funding. Government schemes like SISFS and CGSS are noted for supporting innovation and scalability. With insights into venture capital, angel investing, and crowd funding, the presentation equips entrepreneurs with essential knowledge to make informed decisions, secure resources, and sustain long-term growth in a competitive ecosystem. A total of 200 students participated in the event, showing active involvement and keen interest throughout the session.  The session was coordinated by Mr. P. Prabhu, supported by Mrs. K. Yasotha (HoD), and presided by Principal Dr. N. Muthumani. The event aimed to empower students and aspiring innovators with knowledge about financial opportunities in the startup ecosystem.
