Breaking Barriers Essay writing and Oratorical competition

On 11^th July 2024, Department of English and Skylark Literary club jointly organized  “Breaking Barriers” celebrated to commemorate Malala Yousafzai's birthday with great enthusiasm and zeal. The Department of English organized an Essay writing and Oratorical competition to commemorate the occasion. Students from various departments participated in the events, showcasing their talents and passion. In the oratorical competition, I. Soniya from II BCOM PA took home the first prize, impressing the judges with her eloquent speech. In the essay writing competition, Mohanabharathi M. from II BSC IT secured the first prize, while A. Yalini from II BCOM PA and G. Pradeep from II BCOM CA won the second and third prizes respectively. The events saw active participation, and the students demonstrated their skills and knowledge. Ms. V. Menakadevi, Assistant Professor, Department of English, expertly coordinated the events. The competitions aimed to inspire students to emulate Malala's courage and advocacy for education and social justice. The celebration was a resounding success, fostering a spirit of competition and camaraderie among the students. The winners were felicitated with prizes and certificates, and the participants were encouraged to continue striving for excellence.
