The School of Commerce successfully organized a One-Day National Level
Multidisciplinary Conference on “Innovative Research on the Application of Technology in
Commerce, Management, and Economics” on 13.02.2025 at 10:00 AM. The program
commenced with the traditional lighting of the Kuthuvilakku by the esteemed dignitaries,
setting a positive and auspicious tone for the event. The Welcome Address was delivered by
Dr. R. Kumaresan, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce with CA,
who warmly greeted the attendees. This was followed by an Inaugural Address from Dr. N.
Muthumani, Principal, who emphasized the growing importance of integrating technology
into commerce and management. Mrs. Shanthi Thangavelu, Correspondent of PPG Group of
Institutions, extended an encouraging felicitation speech, acknowledging the collective efforts
behind the conference's success.
The Keynote Session featured Dr. D. Kalpanadevi, Assistant Professor, Department of
Computer Science, GITAM School of Science, GITAM University, Bengaluru, who delivered
an enlightening Special Address on "The Growth of Technology in Commerce." Her thought-
provoking insights into technological advancements and their transformative impact on
commerce and management sectors deeply inspired the students and faculty, offering a fresh
perspective on emerging opportunities.
The conference also showcased Research Presentations, where students from various
colleges, alongside more than 250 students and faculty members, actively presented their
research papers before an esteemed panel of keynote speakers: Dr. S. Balamurugan, Assistant
Professor and Head, Department of Commerce IB, Government Arts College, Avinashi, and
Dr. A. Dayalarajan, Deputy Dean of Academics and Advanced Learning, Kumaraguru
College of Liberal Arts and Science, Coimbatore. The session fostered an engaging exchange
of innovative ideas and research findings, with discussions spanning diverse topics on
technology-driven business transformation. The conference proved to be a resounding
success, serving as a dynamic platform for learning and knowledge sharing, networking with
industry experts and academicians, and exploring innovative solutions in the ever-evolving
landscape of business and technology. The School of Commerce takes pride in creating such
transformative opportunities, empowering students and faculty to embrace technology-driven
change and pursue research excellence.
