Report on One-Day Values Education Programme for boy students

PPG College of Arts and Science, Saravanampatti, in association with Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Swami Vivekananda Cultural and Heritage Centre, organized a One-Day Values Education Programme on 18th September 2025 at the Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education, Multipurpose Hall. The programme was exclusively conducted for boy students with the objective of instilling moral values, discipline, and social awareness inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda.

The programme commenced with a Patriotic Song rendered by Sri J. Aravindakshan, Sri R. Amarnath, and Sri R. Giriprakash. This was followed by insightful sessions by eminent speakers. Swami Bhaktivratananda spoke on Ethics from Ramayana and Mahabharata, while Swami Harinathananda addressed the theme Swami Vivekananda for the Youth, highlighting the importance of character and self-confidence in student life.

Post the tea break, Dr. P. Velmurugan delivered a session on the Indian Freedom Struggle, motivating students to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of freedom fighters. After lunch, students visited the Indian Cultural Heritage Exhibition, gaining exposure to India’s rich cultural traditions.

In the afternoon session, Dr. J.B. Chandrasekar delivered a lecture on Thirukkural and Awareness on Tamil Language, emphasizing linguistic pride and ethical values. This was followed by Interaction and Assessment led by Dr. S. Alagesan, which encouraged active student participation and reflection. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

The event was enriching and impactful, instilling in students a sense of responsibility, cultural awareness, and commitment to values-based living. The participants expressed that the programme motivated them to uphold ethical principles, develop self-discipline, and contribute positively to society.
