The Department of English at PPG College of Arts and Science, in association with the Readers Club, conducted a unique and vibrant event titled “Open Mic – Storytelling” on June 18, 2025, in the refreshing and natural setting of the college's Open Forum, under the tree.The storytelling session centred on the renowned Tamil writer B. Jeyamohan’s impactful short story, “Periyamma’s Words.” The event was coordinated by Ms. S. Sharmila, Assistant Professor, and convened by Mrs. D. Deepikadevi, Head of the Department of English.Students across disciplines actively participated, showcasing their storytelling talent and interpretative skills. Notably, the following students brought the story to life through engaging narration and discussion:

  • Arokiya Uma – II BSc CS (DA)
  • Sharunya – II BCom (CA)
  • Joy Jenifer – II BCom (CA)

Their presentations not only captured the spirit of “Periyamma’s Words” but also sparked peer conversations around themes of resilience, cultural wisdom, and human values.
