Review of Franz Kafka’s A Country Doctor , Kafka’s A Hunger Artist

The Department of English, PPG College of Arts and Science, hosted an event on 26.06.2025 commenced at 10 a.m., coordinated by Ms. V. Menakadevi, Assistant Professor, Department of English. The session began with an insightful introduction to the concept of book reviews and the vital role of reading in fostering personal and intellectual development. Ms. N. Joy Jenifer from PPG College of Arts and Science presented a thoughtful review of Franz Kafka’s A Country Doctor, emphasizing the significance of critical thinking and interpretative analysis. This was followed by a compelling review of Kafka’s A Hunger Artist by Ms. A. S. Sharunya, also from PPG College, who highlighted the importance of deep comprehension and analytical engagement with literary texts. Together, the sessions offered valuable perspectives on nurturing reading habits among students and illustrated how literature can enhance analytical abilities while cultivating a lasting appreciation for the written word.
