Road Safety Awareness Program 2026

The Road Safety Club of PPG College of Arts and Science, in collaboration with the Uyir Club, organized a Road Safety Awareness Program on 06 January 2026 at Peelamedu Junction, Avinashi Road, Coimbatore, from 10.00 AM to 01.30 PM, under the patronage of                      Dr. N. Muthumani, Principal, and the guidance of Dr. V. Haridas, NSS Officer.                        The programme aimed to create awareness among licence applicants, the general public, and pedestrians about road safety and responsible road behaviour. Students and volunteers actively interacted with motorists and pedestrians, emphasizing the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, obeying traffic signals, avoiding mobile phone usage while driving, and following safe pedestrian practices. The programme successfully enhanced awareness of traffic rules, encouraged responsible driving habits, and strengthened community engagement through active student participation, thereby contributing to safer road usage. The public and road users provided positive feedback, appreciating the clear guidance and practical approach of the volunteers, and acknowledged the usefulness of such awareness programmes in preventing accidents and promoting road safety.
