Student Induction Programme Day 2 The Emergency First Aid and Life-Saving Techniques

The Emergency First Aid and Life-Saving Techniques session was conducted as part of DEEKSHARAMBH'26 – Student Induction Programme (Day 2) on 07 July 2026 at the auditorium of PPG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. The session was delivered by an expert team comprising Mr. Shantha Kumar (Rescue Director), Mr. Giridhari Nagarajan (Director, Rapid Response Team), Mr. Nishanth (Project Lead), Mr. Syam (Trainer), Ms. Dhivya Prabha (Corporate Relations), and Ms. Reshma (Trainer). The resource persons provided practical demonstrations and interactive explanations on handling emergency situations, emphasizing the importance of remaining calm, acting promptly, and seeking professional medical assistance when required.

The training covered essential life-saving techniques for managing cardiac arrest, heart attacks, severe bleeding, choking, unconsciousness, fits (seizures), and electric shock. Students learned how to identify the warning signs of each emergency, perform basic first-aid procedures, assist victims safely, and avoid common mistakes before medical help arrives. Live demonstrations and hands-on activities enabled participants to understand the correct response during emergencies, enhancing their confidence and preparedness to handle critical situations responsibly. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, reinforcing the significance of first-aid knowledge as an important life skill for every student.
