The World Cancer Day Awareness Program

The World Cancer Day Awareness Program, organized by NSS and the Women Empowerment Cell in collaboration with Ashwin Hospital, was held on February 2, 2024. The session was presided over by Dr. N. Nithiyaanandan MD., RT - Consultant Radiation Oncologist led sessions focusing on different types of cancer, common risk factors, preventive measures, early warning signs, and available treatment options. Dr. Abinaya MBBS., DGO - Consultant Gynecologist provided in-depth insights into gynecological cancers, with a specific emphasis on cervical cancer. She highlighted the significance of regular screenings and vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) in preventing cervical cancer, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures for women's health. Participants gained valuable insights into the importance of early detection and proactive healthcare practices.
