The ICT Academy organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme “Emotional Intelligence”, held on October 21st, 22nd, and 24th, 2024, at PPG College of Arts and Science. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members representing various colleges across Tamil Nadu.

The primary objective of this FDP was to enhance emotional intelligence (EI) among educators — a critical skill for effective teaching, classroom engagement, and professional growth. The sessions focused on developing key EI competencies such as:

• Self-awareness

• Self-regulation

• Empathy

• Emotional resilience

• Social skills and effective communication

The participants engaged in a range of interactive activities, including role-plays, group discussions, and real-world case studies, enabling them to understand and apply emotional intelligence concepts in their teaching practices. The program also highlighted how EI can foster a positive learning environment, improve classroom management, and enhance student-faculty relationships.

This impactful initiative provided a platform for educators to reflect on their emotional responses and build stronger interpersonal skills, ultimately contributing to a more holistic and empathetic educational experience.
