Values Education Programme for girl students

PPG College of Arts and Science, Saravanampatti, in association with Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Swami Vivekananda Cultural and Heritage Centre, organized the One-Day Values Education Programme on 16th September 2025 at the Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education, Multipurpose Hall. The programme was exclusively conducted for girl students with the objective of inculcating values, discipline, and moral responsibility inspired by the ideals of Swami Vivekananda. The event commenced with a Patriotic Song rendered by Sri J. Aravindakshan, Sri R. Amarnath, and Sri R. Giriprakash. Swami Harivuratananda delivered an insightful session on Ethics from Ramayana and Mahabharata, followed by Dr. T. Thangamani, who spoke on Swami Vivekananda for the Youth. After a short tea break, Dr. R. Ayyappan presented an engaging lecture on the Indian Freedom Struggle, highlighting the sacrifices of great leaders. Post-lunch, students visited the Indian Cultural Heritage Exhibition, which provided them with a deeper understanding of India’s cultural richness. Smt. T.C. Maheswari then delivered a session on Thirukkural and Awareness on Tamil Language, instilling linguistic pride and ethical wisdom. This was followed by Dr. M. Jaikumar, who created awareness on the POCSO Act and Cybercrime, emphasizing the importance of safety and legal awareness among young women. The programme concluded with an Interaction and Assessment session conducted by Dr. S. Alagesan, where students shared reflections on the day’s learnings. The event ended with the National Anthem. The programme was highly impactful, inspiring students to embrace values such as self-confidence, social responsibility, and ethical living. The girl students actively participated throughout, gaining motivation to contribute positively to society while upholding moral principles in their personal and academic life.
