World Environment Day 2025 - Break the Plastic Habit

On 5th June 2025, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and ECO Club of PPG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, jointly organized an event titled “Break the Plastic Habit” to observe World Environment Day. The objective of the event was to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution and to promote environmentally sustainable practices.  The program was convened by Dr. V. Haridas, NSS Officer, under the patronage of                 Dr. N. Muthumani, Principal. As part of the celebration, 30 NSS volunteers actively participated in a lake cleanup activity at Kaliyaperumal Kuttai, Coimbatore, and successfully removed over 140 kilograms of Non-Biodegradable Waste from the surroundings.                     In recognition of their efforts, the NSS Unit received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Environmentalist Foundation of India. The event proved to be a successful initiative in motivating students to take active steps toward environmental protection and sustainability.
